The T-Shirt I just had to have

Someone posted this on G+ a few months back and I was determined to have one. The only trouble was it came from a RPG company in Brasil - RPGBrasil.com. No problems, that's what online translators are for.

Initially the postage quoted was horrendous and so began a string of swapped emails as the RPGBrasil team and I negotiated on a fair price. It turns out the Brasilian postal system is incredibly complex, but we got there in the end. The t-shirt itself is around R$30 (Brasilian Real), which is around $15 US and Australian. Postage to Australia ended up costing me another $25 AUS, so it became a $40 t-shirt. Now I'm not a fashion fiend and I reckon that's the most money I've ever spent on a t-shirt, but I'm happy with the purchase.

Now either the sizes options have expanded since I ordered, or I just missed it at the time, but I bought what I thought was the biggest size (GG - probably the equivalent of Australia's XL - extra large) and sadly it's a bit on the tight side, but then I'm overdue to lose around 10 kg anyway so it's good motivation to get off my arse and do something about it. Looking at the website today I see there is an "XGG" option that would've been a better fit. I warn you however, it seems Brasilian clothes sizes are a bit on the small size and if you're a really big bloke I doubt you'll even get into the XGG.

Here's a couple of photos. If it helps folks I'm 174 cm (5' 8") and weigh 90-odd kg (200 lb). The neck hole is a bit tighter than I find comfortable and as you can see it's a bit tight across the back.

My only real disappointment is that the RPGBrasil logo on the back stuck to itself when it was folded and left a white stripe across it. I hope it becomes less sticky after I throw it in the washing machine.

I have to say that I'm extremely grateful to the RPGBrasil team for going the extra mile for me the customer, to ensure they offered the best price they could. Their patience in dealing with this foreigner is commendable.

My gaming group played a midweek game yesterday and I can't believe that I forgot to wear it. Next time.

Unrelated personal stuff

I mentioned in my previous post that my life is taking a dramatic turn. Nine years ago I gave up my career in the military to become the full-time care giver to my wife Susan, who had been classified disabled due to a couple of incurable but non-fatal conditions. Her health has dramatically turned around and I'm no longer needed at home, and since my own health issues seemed to have resolved themselves, after almost 10 years out of the workforce I have applied for a job for the first time in 20 years. I don't expect to get the first job I go for, but you never know. I'm looking forward to it.

    1. Whoops, spoke too soon. Just had a phone call to say I didn't get the position. It's not bad news however as they said they really want me and will phone me in a couple of weeks regarding two new positions they're currently nutting out. I'm kind of relieved actually as the position I missed out on involved being the admin coordinator between 4 separate departments, which would've sucked big time.
